Permanent beacons at Montezuma reinstated
Permanent beacons at Montezuma were reinstated to comply with the Mines and Minerals Act [Chapter 165] (note 3). The assignment was carried out by a Ministry of Mines registered, specialist contractor. A total of 79 beacons were installed around the 21.5km boundary line.
Due to the passage of time the condition of the original beacons had depreciated considerably. Elsewhere illegal miners, who gained access to our property, had vandalised the beacons to the extent that new beacons needed to be installed.
GPS coordinates for each beacon under our mining lease were provided by Murphy Geological Services. The positioning of each beacon installed is confirmed by photographs held by the Company from the specialist contractor. Murphy Geological Services validated the GPS coordinates position against the coordinates reported on each photograph.
The Company holds a letter from the specialist contractor confirming the assignment was completed in full compliance with the Mines and Minerals Act [Chapter 165] (note 3).
